The Government of Quebec has mandated the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) to carry out a feasibility analysis for the conversion of a portion of the former Royal Victoria Hospital site. The aim is to create a world-class university city, and thus consolidate Montreal's status as one of the world's best student cities. The feasibility analysis will be carried out by Ivanhoé Cambridge, CDPQ's real estate subsidiary.

June 2023
Conclusion of an agreement-in-principle between the Government of Quebec and CDPQ, entrusting CDPQ with the feasibility analysis for the conversion of six buildings on the site of the former Royal Victoria Hospital.
July 2023 to January 2025
Feasibility analysis by Ivanhoé Cambridge, CDPQ’s real estate subsidiary, and consultation with stakeholders.
Early 2025
Presentation of one or more solution scenarios for project implementation.
2025
Decision-making on project implementation.
